Can I be allergic to henna?

Yes, you can be allergic to the henna. However, only a small percentage of people experience any adverse reactions.

What is the paste made from?

The paste is made from the Henna plant, Lawsonia Inermis, water, essential oils, and sugar. At times tea can be used instead of water as the liquid base for the paste.

How long does the process take?

The length of time it takes to apply henna can vary with the size of the design. Small designs can take anywhere from 10-15 minutes. Larger ones can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Bridal Mehndi can take longer if the client wants full coverage on more areas. This can take up to four hours or more depending on the intricacy of the design.

Does Mehndi work on all skin tones?

Absolutely! Both henna and jagua can be applied to all skin tones, however the jagua paste may display the design more effectively on darker skin tones.

What’s the difference between henna and jagua?

Henna comes from a plant that mainly grows in India and regions of North Africa. And, Henna stains the skin a reddish brown color that can last up to 10 days. However, Jagua comes from a fruit that mainly grows in Mexico and South America and stains the skin a deep indigo blue color, which can last up to 15 days.

Are some areas of the body not good for Mehndi?

Some areas don’t work well for Mehndi designs including the inner part of the upper arm and other areas where the skin is thinner. This results in a lighter stain which is harder to see.

What should I do to prepare for my henna design?

1. Exfoliate the area two hours minimum before henna application.

2. Shave the area where you want the henna applied.

3. Make sure no lotion or oils are placed on the skin prior henna application.

4. Try to be a still as possible during the application of the design.

5. Relax and enjoy!

How can I make the design last longer?

1. Do not touch the paste while it’s drying, be extra careful not to smear the design.

2. Avoid washing the area where the design is as much as possible.

2. Coconut oil helps moisturize the area where the design is placed, which makes the stain last longer.

What is your cancellation policy?

For individuals appointments, cancellation is required 48 hours before the appointment time.

For a large parties (10 or more people) cancellation notice is required 7 days before the event.

Can I use my own design?

Absolutely! If you see a design you really like, show the artist and he/she will be happy to recreate it for you!
